Over the years, we've all collected our fair share of things that we've never quite gotten around to using. Whether they're unopened foodstuffs, unworn clothing, or just unwanted gifts, these unused items go largely unnoticed until they are someday thrown away, donated to charity, or sold in a yard sale. It's a waste, but it's part of life. We rarely talk about the phenomenon of unused purchases and seldom care when they are inevitably removed from our homes and our lives unceremoniously.
Until now. In an effort to save money and waste time, the two of us have undertaken a seemingly endless project: to read every book, watch every movie, and beat every video game that we own. We have limited ourselves to these three mediums because they provide us with practicality and entertainment. After all, an attempt to adorn every piece of clothing in our closets would seem rather pointless, and a quest to eat all of the food in the back of our refrigerators and cabinets sounds misguided at best. Instead, we will focus on our backlogged catalogues. We will read old books and play old games. We will finish what we've started. It will be both fun and frustrating, both rewarding and pointless. And we will document our trials and triumphs as we plunge headfirst into our own backlogs, right here in this very blog. Shall we drown in our own mess of unfinished books, games, and DVDs, we'll have no one to blame but ourselves for undertaking such a fool's errand.
And now, without further ado, we begin.
