NBA Jam (2010)

Somewhere between Black Friday and Cyber Monday there was a PlayStation Network deal featuring the EA Sports reboots of both NBA Jam and NFL Blitz for five bucks. Why not? I'd actually played this game somewhat extensively before, racking up five or six games on Keith's Xbox 360 copy. It's a fine little 2-on-2 arcade basketball game with a decent balance between playability and absurdity. Shoving and elbowing are legal, but goal-tending isn't. And front flip dunks happen like six times per game. It's a fun enough package, but there's really no depth to this game. You can't even create your own players like you can in the 2-on-2 NBA Hangtime back on Nintendo 64, and there's not nearly as much content as there was in the 3-on-3 NBA Street from ten years ago. I was completely fine paying $2.50 for this thing, but it's still going for $60 full price on Amazon, at least on Xbox 360, and that just isn't right.
